Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announce they are expecting their first child

If you thought that the ultimate fairy tale wedding was a big enough event for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this year, you would be wrong.

Now, after months of speculation on when we would hear about a potential pregnancy, the newlyweds have announced that they are expecting their first child.

Kensington Palace released a statement releasing the news to the world, in which the couple thanked people all over the world for their support since they first went public with their relationship.

On the official Instagram account for Kensington Palace, a photo of Harry and Meghan was posted, along with a caption that read:

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.

"Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."

This announcement comes just as the couple begin their first official tour outside of England, first heading to Australia. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to visit Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand in the future.

After five months marriage, many of their admirers across the globe had pondered whether we were going to get an announcement soon, and now that we have the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Until we get word on what the sex and name of the child is going to be, we will just have to wait until Spring next year, when the baby is due to be born.

Congrats to the happy couple!
