Chrissy Teigen hits back at trolls who have mom-shamed her over a recent Instagram post
Everyone's favourite celebrity mum (Chrissy Teigen, duh) seems to have come under fire of late thanks to a recent Instagram post. The 32-year-old recently gave birth to her second child with John Legend, welcoming baby boy Miles to join the family alongside two-year-old Luna.
And while we're enjoying all the family snaps from the adorable little quartet, it seems there will always be keyboard warriors who have nothing better to do than to complain about something that Chrissy has done on Instagram.
Chrissy, who's never one to be tone-deaf to much, wrote a very self-aware caption to accompany the post. Anticipating negative comments, she wrote: "Should I post the one where his head looks unsupported but my face looks good and Luna is over it, the one where his head is supported but my face is just okay and Luna is over it, or him crying and my face looks okay and luna is over it?"
But still, trolls decided they couldn't handle it and decided to inform Chrissy that she was raising her young children in an inappropriate manner. Namely, for exposing little Miles to the direct rays of sunlight.
"How about you stop posting altogether and get that infant out of the heat and sun? Aren't you over yourself yet?" one person wrote. "Poor child is crying & taking in the sun !! sheesh," said another, while someone else said, "Why is that baby out in the sun like that ?that’s why he crying."
It should also be noted that not everyone was being a grouch about it. Lots of people showered the post with love and praise, writing things like "I love all your pictures and the way you keep it real!" and "Yay for getting those babies their natural vitamin D for the day." Another mum sympathised with Chrissy, writing "lol welcome to the world of trying to take pics with two kids instead of one".
Still, it seems Chrissy did notice the hateful comments and decided to hit back at them. One person wrote that Miles didn't "look too happy with the sun in his little eyes," to which Chrissy coolly responded with a sarcastic "he told me he loves it".
You tell 'em Chrissy.
She's become somewhat of an icon over the years, thanks to her witty Twitter presence, as well as her candid posts on Instagram about motherhood. Since having Miles, she's been open about the experiences that mothers have after birth, many of which are never talked about candidly.
In one post, she modelled some postpartum underwear, revealing its signature mesh design that's there to hold maternity pads in place.
In another, she posted a photo of herself hunched over wearing a facemask and steaming her lady parts – with a full disclaimer saying she really didn't know if it "works". (FYI, vagina steaming has been no-no'ed by many experts.)
And most recently, she shared a video of herself holding Luna while shopping to check out her latest makeup collab - and Luna gave a total of zero f*cks.
Motherhood isn't always glitz and glam, is it?
