'Game of Thrones' fans desperately want an Arya spinoff show
Now that Game of Thrones is over, it's fair to say that the show is going to leave a pretty big gap in the lives of its many millions of fans. Indeed, there are some folk out there who simply cannot come to terms with the idea that all the plotlines are now well and truly wrapped up and the cast is moving on to other projects ... or are they?
Since the show's inception, Arya Stark has been a fan-favourite character thanks to her take-no-crap attitude, general badassery, and Masie Williams' superb performance. Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen the show: but it was a welcome relief to all of her admirers that Ayra managed to survive till the last episode, with her fate left pretty open-ended.

Commenting on the finale in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight Masie stated: "It was just really emotional. You can start to get yourself so down on [everything], being like, ‘This is the last time I’m gonna read scripts. This is the last time I’m going to be in this location. I got to a point where I had to stop doing that because then I was just going to have a nervous breakdown."
However, fans are already calling for a spin-off show focusing on Arya's adventures after the events of season eight, and to be honest, the concept behind the spinoff sounds pretty intriguing. If you'll remember, after all the trauma Arya went through over the course of the last eight seasons, she's now decided to forgo her duties as an aristocrat, and become a seafaring adventure.
Watch the moment Arya met Melisandre way back in season three of Game of Thrones:
Arya's intention is obviously to become the Westerosi equivalent of Christopher Columbus; sailing westward to see what lands lie there (if any). To be honest, the idea of Arya going into uncharted territory, and discovery weird fantasy cultures and fantastic creatures, sounds pretty awesome, and plenty of fans took to social media to shout out about how much they want to see Arya on their screens again. There's been no official confirmation or talk from HBO about a Game of Thrones spinoff quite yet. However, don't forget that the network is already working on a Game of Thrones prequel, tentatively entitled 'Bloodmoon'.
