Nobody could contain themselves after watching how Mitt Romney blows out his birthday candles
Whether you're rich or poor, celebrating a birthday usually involves some pretty conventional events. The giving of presents; a party of some sorts; and that time of the day when everybody sings Happy Birthday to the individual as they blow out the candles on their birthday cake.
And yesterday, the junior senator for Utah, Mitt Romney, celebrated his 72nd birthday. Sadly, the poor fella had to go into work on his special day, but fortunately, he was surprised by his team with a birthday cake.
In a tweet, the birthday boy said: "My team surprised me with a cake made out of my favorite snack—twinkies! Looking forward to all this year has in store." However, people on Twitter just could not contain themselves when they saw how Romney blows out his birthday candles.
Seriously, who decides THIS is the best way to blow out the candles on a cake?
For the first half of the video, everything is relatively normal. Sure, it's a little bizarre the entire cake was made out of Twinkies, like the office had forgotten it was his birthday and had to think on the spot and quickly construct a cake with the only thing they had left in the staff kitchen - but other than that, it was pretty standard.
That is, until it was time for the former US presidential candidate to blow out the candles. Now, this is something we've all done before, right? We all know how it goes, right? Well, watching Mitt Romney do it, you'd think he's never celebrated a birthday with a cake before.
And the reactions were as hilarious as you would have expected:
In all fairness, I also can appreciate the fact Romney didn't get any of his saliva on the birthday cake. We've all been to a kid's birthday party where you're forced to watch a five-year-old spit all over the cake, only to have the mom then cut you a slice. No thank you.
But perhaps Jack McGraw solved the biggest mystery when he questioned why Romney was acting so surprised despite being recorded at his desk before the cake had even appeared:
I think it's safe to say this is the most any of us have been in agreement over something Romney has done. Mitt, the way you blow out candles is weird.
